Job Qualifications

ABC Preschool Teacher

  • Valid State of Arizona Teaching Certificate.

  • Must hold Arizona State Special Education credentials.

  • Possesses a current CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Possesses a valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Evidence of successful teaching experience.

  • Pre-school or Headstart experience preferred.

  • Early Childhood endorsement required.

Art Teacher (Baker Middle School)

  1. Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate for the elementary, middle or secondary level.

  2. Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  3. Bachelor's Degree in elementary, middle or secondary education.

  4. Fifteen (15) hours of State approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) coursework.

  5. Successful middle school student teaching experience preferred.

  6. Must meet Arizona Department of Education appropriately certified requirements.

  7. Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language endorsement.

Art Teacher (Monument Valley High School)

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate for the secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Degree(s) required and area of major study and/or 24 content hours.

  • Must have Art as an approved area.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

Assistant Principal

  • Valid Arizona State Principal's Certificate.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Master’s degree in education or related field.

  • At least five years of successful teaching experience required.

  • Fifteen (15) hours of State approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) coursework.

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate 7-12.

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate for Career Technical Education (CTE) in approved area: (a) Construction Technologies; (b) Drafting and Design Technology; (c) Graphic Communications; (d) Welding Technology.

  • Valid Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement.

Cultural Youth Development Specialist

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in the preferably Social Work or Education, plus two years relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  2. Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  3. Bilingual English and Navajo speaker required.

  4. Knowledge of the Navajo culture and history and ability to share with staff, students, and parents.

  5. Knowledge of the social, educational, cultural, and economic development and needs of Navajo students and demonstrated ability to provide culturally sensitive and appropriate services to the students and their families.

  6. Experience in youth development and youth services with proven ability to engage youth and motivate them toward action and follow-up.

  7. Knowledge of homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, and domestic violence.

  8. Knowledge of basic counseling skills and the ability to identify priorities based on present student need and effectively move the student to a service to meet their needs.

  9. Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively communicate service updates, outputs and outcomes, data and evaluation findings, and reporting requirements.

  10. Must be a positive role model by practicing excellent work and personal ethics.

Elementary Youth Coach

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred. 

  • High School diploma required. 

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card. 

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate. 

  • Experience and/or knowledge in the sport. 

  • Great with elementary students. 

English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate for the secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Degree(s) required and area of major study and/or 24 content hours.

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.

  • Must have English as an approved area.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

Navajo Language Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate with appropriate content-area.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write the Navajo language.

  • At least two years of successful teaching experience.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.       

Occupational Therapist

  • Bachelor's of Science in a major field of occupational therapy from an accredited college or university with a degree in occupational therapy.  Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Pass the national examination and obtain State licensure pursuant to the Arizona Board regulations.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Experience as a practicing occupational therapist.

  • Bilingual English/Navajo preferred.

Physical Therapist

  • Bachelor's of Science in a major field of physical therapy from an accredited college or university with a degree in physical therapy.  Master’s degree preferred.

  • Pass the national examination and obtain State licensure pursuant to the Arizona Board regulations.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Experience as a practicing physical therapist.

  • Bilingual English/Navajo preferred.

Science Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate for the secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Degree(s) required and area of major study and/or 24 content hours.

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.

  • Must have Science (Biology; Physics) as an approved area.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

Speech Language Pathologist

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist Certificate issued by Arizona Department of Education.

  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Experience as a practicing Speech Language Pathologist.

  • Bilingual English/Navajo preferred.

Special Education Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate.

  • Must hold Arizona Special Education credentials.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Evidence of successful teaching experience.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

Substitute Teacher

  • Regular Substitute Teachers:  Bachelor’s degree required.

  • First time Substitute Teachers: High School Diploma or 30 semester hours of college education in Education.  

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate, Regular or Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Must have a working telephone.

Substitute Teacher Assistant

  • An associate degree: or 60 semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through the passage of a formal State or local academic assessment accepted by the Arizona Department of Education.

  • Possesses current CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Possesses a valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Dependable and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to be flexible with an assigned task.

  • Ability to take initiative as appropriate.

  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner.

  • Ability to follow the school's health, safety, and emergency procedures.

  • Experience working with students with disabilities and preferably have experience with implementing an Individual Education Plan.

  • Experience working with the preschool age 3 to 5 preferred.

  • Ability to communicate with colleagues, follow instructions and use critical thinking skills that will enable the team to work effectively.

  • Ability to gather and maintain data regarding the performance and behavior of individual students and confer with team about schedules, goals, progress, and performance.

  • Physically fit to lift, transfer, and physically assist students ages 3-5.

Teacher Veterinarian

  • Valid State of Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate 7-12.

  • Valid State of Arizona Certificate for Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Agricultural Business Management.

  • Valid Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement.

  • Valid Doctor of Veterinary Medicine License.

  • Valid State of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
